Tennessee Lottery gives almost $80 million to education

Since the Lottery started, about two years ago, $567 million have been collected for education, mostly for college scholarships and after-school programs. The $79.6 million that the Lottery is going to transfer this week represent an absolute record.

The net sales of the Lottery for the first quarter of the year (January to March), were $265.9 million, which added to the total collected in these two years represent $1.9 billion in sales.

The Lottery President and Chief Executive Officer, Rebecca Paul, said that they try to keep the games fresh and exciting to continue the good moment. She added that it was a great day for Tennessee and even better for its students.
