An armed robber wearing a bandanna over his face stole money from a Carlsbad church bingo hall, Carlsbad police said today.

The robbery at St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church was reported at 6:30 p.m. yesterday, CPD Lt. Jay Eppel said.

A suspect between 16 and 18 years of age brandished a handgun and demanded the cashier give him money out of the register, Eppel said.

He then ran away, police said.

Officers searching the area could not find the suspect.
