Lotojuegos.com, a company that administrates the sales of the online lottery, assures that over two months before the draws, there are 720 million euros that have been reserved already (of which 80% is going to be sold to companies). Each employee will buy, on average, 2,7 tenths, which is 54 euros of lottery.
Eight out of ten Spanish companies have already reserved their luck for Christmas. Madrid, Catalunya, Andalucia and Valencia are the communities that are going to buy more tickets in the next week.
The same study points out that 80% of the companies asks for numbers that have a special meaning. The most wanted ones last year were the date of birth of Infant Leonor, the date of the royal wedding and of the victory in the World Championship of Fernando Alonso.
And with the buying comes the fraud. Last year, several announcements in magazines encouraged to buy tickets for the Christmas draw through the European Lottery Guild, which ended up being a fraud. The Public Entity of Bets and Lottery reminds that legally the tickets can only be bought in the official places in Spain. Outside the country, the Spanish lottery is not sold.
